Eating walnuts often helps lower blood pressure

The latest research from the French Health Journal found that insisting on eating walnuts every day is very helpful in controlling blood pressure.
  A new study from Pennsylvania State University shows that daily consumption of walnuts helps lower blood pressure and thus reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. Chris Etherton, a professor of nutrition at the university, said that walnuts have a more pronounced blood pressure lowering effect than foods with similar fatty acids. Professor Arisa Tindell, a student of Professor Chris, explained that the alpha-linolenic acid in walnuts has a positive effect on blood pressure.
  The university’s researchers invited 45 obese people between the ages of 30 and 65 to participate in the experiment. Before the experiment began, these people needed to follow the same dietary rules within two weeks: limit calorie intake from saturated fat to 12%. After the experiment began, these people were randomly assigned to three dietary regimens: a diet of walnuts per day; no consumption of walnuts but the same intake of alpha-linolenic acid and polyunsaturated fatty acids; replacement of alpha in walnuts with equal amounts of oleic acid Linolenic acid.
  The results showed that all three diets helped to improve cardiovascular health, but the group that insisted on eating walnuts worked best, which further proved the blood pressure lowering effect of walnuts.
