Is it possible to charge your phone with plants?

What should you do if you are walking on the road and suddenly want to make a call or send a text message to a friend with your mobile phone, but find that your mobile phone is dead? In fact, this is an embarrassing situation that many people may encounter. At present, the standby time of the mobile phones we use generally does not exceed 24 hours under normal use, so frequent charging is required. So, can we use plants around us to solve the charging problem? Three Chilean female university students opened a path of hope for us. After 3 years of hard work, they finally developed a plant cell phone charger called “E-Kaia”.
One end of the E-Kaia portable charger is a USB interface, which can be connected to a mobile phone, and the other end is inserted into the potted soil. At present, this charger can output 5 volts, about 600 milliamperes of current, so you only need to wait about 1.5 hours for a fully charged mobile phone to serve the host again.
E-Kaia uses free electrons in potting soil to charge mobile phones.
Everyone knows that plants obtain energy through complex photosynthesis. Chlorophyll in plants interacts with light, carbon dioxide in the air, water absorbed by plants from roots, and certain microorganisms around plants, and many chemical reactions and biological changes occur. In this energy conversion process, the water in the plant body decomposes oxygen, releasing protons and electrons. There is a biological circuit board in E-Kaia, which captures and collects the electrons that are not used by plants through electrodes, and stores them into electric energy that can be used. Because the collected electrons are not needed by plants, they will not have any adverse effects on the growth of plants. Therefore, E-Kaia is a very good clean energy product.
The creators of E-Kaia have further plans: use plants to charge high-power computers, televisions, or emergency lights. If possible, they hope that in the future, the power supply problem of household appliances can also be easily solved by planting a big tree in the yard.
