Master the Workplace: Work-Life Balance, Skills, and Owning Your Work for Career Success

Young people must have the ability to leave the company at any time, and they must also have the attitude of never leaving. This is the highest realm of people in the workplace.

Your work is your own, and you should have a sense of ownership wherever you work. Only in this way can you learn something and grow.

Ability is your capital for moving forward. Crosstalk actor Guo Degang once said that before success, talent is nothing. Only success can prove everything about you.

Life is like this, and the workplace is a place where you rely on your ability to make a living. Only when you show your true strength can you have a certain say. If you only lament the injustice of the world all day long, you will be useless.

I once heard a story about a devout Christian who prayed devoutly every day: “God, please be merciful and grant me a lottery prize.” He prayed like this every day. A month later, he still hadn’t won the lottery. He doubted God a little and complained to God: “Almighty God, why don’t you let me win the lottery once? I am so pious and kind. Why are you so cruel?” At this time, a voice suddenly floated over the church: “My believer, I have never doubted your piety, but you have to buy a lottery ticket first.”

This story is very reasonable. If you want to win the lottery, you must first buy a lottery ticket. In other words, during the year-end summary, the performance column was empty, and I was speechless when I wanted to apply for a salary increase.

Don’t be arrogant when taking credit, and don’t accept salary without merit. These are the basic rules in the workplace.

1. Work attitude should always be put first

Attitude is a person’s behavior in doing things. When someone receives a task, the first thing that comes to mind is how to do your best and live up to others’ expectations of you. But there are also some people who think that this is not his job, and they look unwilling to do it. Of course, the final result is not satisfactory.

Sometimes it’s not about how good a person is, but your sincerity. As the saying goes, nothing is difficult in the world, only those who are willing can do it. No matter how simple a thing is, if you don’t take it seriously, it will just be done hastily.

A person who does one thing with concentration and dedication is the attitude he should have to achieve success. Some people usually don’t pay much attention to their work, and their superiors will angrily ask them where their attitude is.

Attitude is a kind of potential will in a person’s heart, and it is the external manifestation of personal abilities, wishes, ideas, values, etc. at work.

Whether a person can get things done, attitude plays a vital role. A responsible person who is dedicated to good and positive, so no matter what he does, he will not mess up easily.

2. Only when a person has strength can he have the capital to negotiate.

In the real world, only by speaking with strength can people convince you. If you talk arrogantly, no one will be moved by you, even if you say it in a brilliant way.

In the workplace, most people are rushing for promotion and salary increase. Who doesn’t want to have a good job with a high salary? But the boss hired you just to get greater benefits. If you can’t bring more benefits to the company, how can you ask the company for a salary increase?

A person’s strength corresponds to the company’s performance. If you want to get a share of the company’s pie, you have to put in a lot of hard work and effort. It is a daydream to think that you can make a lot of money easily by just making up your money.

There is no pie in the sky. If you want a good life, you have to work hard. Believe that the harder you work, the more lucky you will be. God has never favored a person who gets something for nothing, nor will he let down everyone who works hard.

The ability to improve oneself is a critical issue in the workplace. Only with the ability can you complete your work well. Show your true ability and I believe you have won half the battle at the HR negotiation table.

3. Work is life

Work takes up almost half of my life. I have been studying for more than 20 years, hoping to have a decent job in the future and give my family a better life.

Work is not just about doing things, it is a person’s life. So do this job seriously and get not just a salary, but how to live a good life.

Faced with every job, we should devote ourselves wholeheartedly. Don’t think that you are getting an advantage by fishing in troubled waters. In fact, you are the one who suffers.

Develop yourself into a real person and don’t worry about being abandoned by life. As long as you have the ability, you have the right to choose, rather than passively accepting fate.

The workplace is a stage where you can show your life. Only by staying true to your original intention can you succeed.
