Henan Kangtai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (formerly Henan Kangtai Pharmaceutical Group Corporation) is located in Xingyang City, an ancient town by the mountains and rivers, with a pleasant scenery. The Longhai Railway and Kaifu Expressway run through the town, making the transportation very convenient. The predecessor of the company was Xingyang City Sishui Town Fine Chemical Factory, which was established in 1985. Henan Kangtai Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. was established in 1993. It has economic entities such as Henan Province Fine Chemical Factory, Xingyang City Chemical Synthesis Research Institute, Xingyang City Kangtai Pharmaceutical Factory, etc., with a registered capital of 52.23 million yuan, a total area of 100,000 square meters, and 365 employees. In the past ten years, the company has continuously deepened enterprise reform, tilted scientific and technological investment, adhered to high-end, sophisticated and cutting-edge products, and strived to develop and launch high-tech products into the market, achieving good economic and social benefits. From a little-known village-run small factory, it has developed into a modern pharmaceutical group that integrates science, industry and trade as a high-tech enterprise in Henan Province, a demonstration enterprise of technological innovation engineering in Henan Province, an advanced enterprise of scientific and technological progress in Henan Province, an advanced unit of environmental governance and protection in Henan Province, and an enterprise with AA credit rating. The company’s leading products are Norfloxacin APIs, with an annual design production capacity of 1500 tons; Norfloxacin APIs won the second prize of scientific and technological progress in Henan Province. 1500 tons/year Norfloxacin was listed as a key project for the industrialization of high-tech industries in Henan Province. The products sell well domestically and are exported in large quantities, enjoying a high reputation at home and abroad for their large scale and high quality. At present, the Norfloxacin workshop has been transformed according to GMP requirements, successfully passed the GMP certification of Henan Provincial Food and Drug Administration (cFDA) and obtained the GMP certificate and Written confirmation for active substances exported to EU (WC).

In 2005, it successfully developed a national first-class new drug gatifloxacin mesylate series products. The process is domestically initiated and reaches the world’s advanced level. At the same time, it ended Henan’s first national first-class new drug after Kaifeng Pharmaceutical Factory developed a national first-class new drug Yan Tong Xi Kang 33 years ago. It filled the domestic gap and provided a good technical platform for China’s development of quinolone drugs.

The company’s overall development idea: based on the development and research of quinolone antibacterial drugs and intermediate series products, accelerate the production pace of preparations, strive to develop one national first-class and second-class new drugs each within 3-5 years, form fist products, and build the company into one of the main domestic production bases for quinolone series products.

Xingyang City Chemical Synthesis Research Institute is the company’s professional scientific research and development institution, mainly engaged in product quality testing, new product technology research and development and process technology transformation of existing products, providing series services for the company. The institute currently has 23 employees, including 5 with senior titles and 18 with intermediate and junior titles. There are five conventional chemical synthesis laboratories, one conventional laboratory, one quality inspection center equipped with high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography and other testing facilities and a multifunctional pilot synthesis workshop with a construction area of about 2000 square meters. The institute has established long-term technical cooperation relationships with Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences, China Pharmaceutical University, Zhengzhou University of Technology and other scientific research institutes. It is a strong technical backing for the company. Over the past ten years or so, the institute has successfully carried out technical research and development on high-tech products such as fluorochlorobenzeneamine, trifluoronitrobenzene, ethoxymethane fork, tetrafluorobenzoic acid, Norfloxacin and pushed them to industrialized mass production, bringing excellent social and economic benefits to the company. At the same time, it also cultivated and trained a large number of scientific and technological personnel with scientific and technological awareness, good technical quality and good at fighting hard battles, accumulated rich chemical synthesis experience and had good new product technology research and development capabilities.

The company invested more than 8 million yuan to independently develop the national first-class new drug Gatifloxacin mesylate API and capsule products. It is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial product that fills the domestic gap. The process is domestically initiated. The project product has been approved by the Registration Department of the State Food and Drug Administration and has obtained the new drug certificate. All kinds of raw materials required for the production of this product can be supplied domestically, and the main raw materials are supplied by the company itself, which can effectively reduce the production cost of the product. It is expected that when the project product reaches production, the domestic market share can reach about 20%, with strong competitiveness. Various production equipment selection can meet the process design requirements, “three wastes” treatment is guaranteed, the project life cycle is long, the economic benefits are significant, the anti-risk ability is strong, and the market prospects are very broad.
